Spirit of the Olympics

This year will be such a busy year, the Queens Jubilee and then the Olympics but some things are with us every year.

Since 1951, longer than the Queen has reigned, Carshalton Carnival is with us again on

Saturday 9th June
at Carshalton Park, Ruskin Road. Gates are open from 12.00pm.

Lots of spills and thrills this year with "James Dylan Stuntworld" a motorcycle team performing in the main arena riders who can perform the latest freestyle moves, along with wheelies, stoppies and cross-over ramp jumps, mingled with an entertaining commentary from a rider during the performance.

The second main act will be "Action Entertainments" a team of professional stunt performers who will demonstrate the art of the "High Fall" as they plunge from over 50ft in a non-stop demonstration of unique aerial awareness and control.

We have Punch and Judy, Bouncy Castles and many other sideshows along with stalls representing the many organisations in our local community.

The Carnival Parade, this year themed as "the Spirit of the Olympics", will leave Sutton Arena on the St Helier estate at 12.00pm, and work its way via Green Wrythe Lane to Carshalton College and then on through Carshalton High Street to Ruskin Road and the Park arriving at approximately 1.30pm. The parade will be lead, as always by the Carnival Queen float bringing the Queen to her coronation in the Park. This year Heidi Fowkes-Smith will be crowned during the awards ceremony that takes place in the arena when the whole parade is assembled.

The Carnival is run by a committee of dedicated volunteers, supported by Wallington & Carshalton Round Table and Carshalton Rotary Club, for the benefit of the local community and is a not for profit event.

Entrance to the park is £2.50 for Adults and £1 for Children (those under school age are free of charge)

Rose’s Funfair runs from 5pm on Friday evening 8th June through to Sunday 10th June.
